Attention buyers. I bought it in a hurry and rush makes garbage. Read carefully. I spent a decent amount of money on something I didn't want and can't use.

Not sure whose fault it was but when I opened the package the filter housing was already cracked with fragments. Luckily the broken parts were above the water and I was able to tape it off with tape so it wouldn't leak. This could have been avoided if more than just kraft paper like styrofoam had been used to protect the case.

I was concerned it would be difficult to change the motor but there is a youtube guide and it really is sooooo easy to just turn the motor to the side and pull it out and then insert the new housing by aligning the notches and rotating! and you save so much money on buying a new one as well as backfilling landfills. I'm thinking of ordering one to have on hand because yes I'm a clumsy and might drop it on the tile floor again!

I have been very happy with all three of my Aquaclear 110/500 Power Filters. They are quiet, work well and are relatively easy to clean. I was horrified when I pulled out the case to clean it and dropped it on the floor. Luckily Aquaclear allows users to buy individual components of this system and I only had to buy a replacement case. Having these replacement parts gave me significant cost savings over buying a whole new filter and also kept the parts I didn't break at our local scrap yard.
