Closer to GE filters

Pretty good for the price but I can feel my skin tingling where the chlorine has made its way through the filter. Not much but overall good value for money.

it is an ideal replacement for an expensive GE product

is an ideal replacement for an expensive GE product. It hasn't been installed long enough to see if it will last as long as the GE replacement, but based on the quality it displays I'm willing to assume it will.

Quality product as described

I recently purchased this product to replace the GE filter that came with my original unit. Upon opening, I found the filters very well made and easily installed them in minutes. If you are interested in an alternative to more expensive filter packs I would have no hesitation in recommending this brand.

Nice try but not as good as GE's

Two pack arrived. One was open, one was intact. I installed it undamaged and it fit well. Since one was already hacked, I decided to open the original old GE I just removed. It was found that the metal contents were identical in quantity and composition. Both had a cloth pre-filter, but the GE appears to have been made of a different material and much thicker. It may not be significant, but it can clog faster if you live anywhere with solids in your water source. The big difference seems to beโ€ฆ

Fits right but is it effective? Associated data for chlorine is not included.

No documentation was provided with the product to clearly state that it is able to filter chlorine and to what extent it does so. GE FXSCH has a page accompanying the product containing information on chlorine filtration that contains data on the following: substance, inlet stream concentration, maximum allowable water concentration in the product, reduction requirements, minimum reduction and average recovery efficiency of the original filter. This information is missing from this Aquacrestโ€ฆ
