Just received and connected today. It took a maximum of 30 minutes. I'm definitely not a plumber, but I took some cotton wool and scraped the tape off the shower pipes and any corrosion I could find on them. I took the tape that came with the box and went clockwise around the threads three times and then followed the instructions on the box. The lock nut worked for me and so far I haven't had any leaks.
