So I've used thermal grease (various brands) in the past and never had that experience until I tried this 2019 version of the MX4! So I applied and installed anyway, thinking maybe that would still work, but no, it has bad results. My Macbook is currently 60°C*, before the thermal paste replication it was only 49-55°C. Update: Great paste ruined by bad consistency. Old review: 8g of thermal paste that actually works for less than $12 was the best part. advertised in tests you will see on youtube. My issue is that after it hit level 3 gauge it started to get watery but after just a few squeezes it returned to its normal consistency so I couldn't get any good photos. I've built countless PCs over the years and have always preferred this product. You don't need this spatula, just place a pea-sized drop in the center of the CPU and then gently press down on the heatsink.
