For this money it is worth it.

The image quality is just what I need for this project. It would be nice if there was an Arduino library for this to make things easier.

Pros
  • Applications: Assembled with a metal body and a rotatable arm, this mini camera is highly recommended for home surveillance system and 3D printer surveillance, and you can easily place it on the table or any flat surface, or mount it on the wall. or tripod mount.

Outstanding 8-megapixel camera in Computer & Accessories

Excellent 8 megapixel camera! Using the sensor without a lens for imaging. Although the dynamic range is not very large. Many settings are adjustable, including exposure and white balance. You can't win at this price.

Works well, good lighting required

Works well. You need a bright enough light to get a good picture. The application specified in the instructions has many settings and functions. Using the zoom works well, but the camera needs to be a meter away to get a good sized image.

Not compatible with macOS Big Sur 11.3.1

This camera does not work reliably on macOS Big Sur - there appears to be a [manufacturer-confirmed] bug in the firmware that requires the device to be powered off [rebooted] after each access to the camera. Seems to work correctly with Raspberry Pi.

Nice cheap camera! But remember this is a cheap camera.

Works well as a backup webcam or from another angle. Image quality (dynamic range in particular) isn't amazing, although it can be tweaked to look satisfactory using standard UVC webcam drivers. With a little care with the lighting, this is perfectly adequate for video conferencing.
