Description of ๐Ÿ“ธ Arducam Pi Camera: Motorized Lens Webcam for Octoprint Octopi, Adjustable Focal Length & 100CM Extension Ribbon Cable for Raspberry Pi

Hassle Free: Works as a native Raspberry Pi camera on Raspberry Pi 4/3B+/3 and more, and Arducam has solved the problems with the installation and setup on OctoPi. Motorized Focus: See closer and easier than the fixed focus (1 m to infinity) lens, the minimum focal length is about 5CM, which is better to monitor the 3D printer nozzle and make you pay close attention to your creation. Focus Controllable: A camera focus control plugin has been developed to control an Arducam motorized focus camera using the OctoPrint Control tab, which utilizes custom commands from your slicer to adjust focus while printing. A Long Cable: 100cm/3.28ft extension cable included, long enough for mounting the camera, especially useful when you donโ€™t want to place the camera near the Raspberry Pi. Package Contents: 1pcs 5MP motorized focus camera module, 2pcs flex ribbon cables (15cm/100cm) for Raspberry Pi A&B series, and manuals.

Good choice for longer range

Bought this kit for my Octopi setup. I knew I would need more space between the Pi and the camera than regular tape would provide, and that's covered a lot of distance. Image quality is just as advertised with a decent focal length.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Long time

After adjustment only OK.

I bought squids for time lapse but they were blurry right after I bought them. This v1.3 fixed focus camera can be adjusted using the V1 focus adjustment tool, which is printed on the Thingverse website. After adjusting the focus, the video is mediocre, with overloaded colors and brightness.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • I'm worried

Good quality quick and easy camera solution for Raspberry Pi

Easy to connect and operate. I got this to control my 3D printer in Octoprint. The picture quality was great and it was great value for money. For my application, a long cable made more sense. I was really impressed with the video quality on something so small.

Pros
  • Complete set
Cons
  • Very expensive

1.DOA, 2.Plug and Play!

I set it up for Octoprint. The 1st module was DOA (no light), the 2nd worked immediately. It was nice to spend $13 ($4 for a very long ribbon cable) compared to $190-$200 for a good Logitech. if it is available Barebones, good picture, no sound. Works great for what I need. I understand that the DOA level is high. The Revain return system made it easy to exchange.

Pros
  • I finally bought it
Cons
  • I have doubts

Works out of the box with Raspberry Pi

Used for octo printing on my Raspberry Pi 3D printer. Installation was easy, I didn't have to do anything extra, plugged it in and it worked. I almost returned it because it was blurry. Found a review saying it had the same issue and printed out a focus adjustment tool. The tool didn't work, but I was able to focus it with the wire cutters. The picture quality isn't the best and it's dark. I probably would have bought better, with auto focus and backlight, but it works.

  • Weight

Long cable, shallow depth of field, poor auto exposure

100% plug and play with Raspberry Pi 3B+ and Octoprint 1.6.1. It took me a few tries to find a good .STL that would do this, but I finally found a good one to install directly onto my CR-10 S5's X portal. However, the depth of field is nowhere near large enough for this camera in this position to cover such a large printer. I can either focus on the near or middle part of the bed, or on the middle and far area. Anything more than 100mm from the perfect point of focus will quickly blur. And itโ€ฆ

Do not give up! the best computer components

Use with Rapberry Pi 3b+ and Octopi 0.18.0. I am using a long cable to run from my Ender 3 Pro's LCD to the X axis motor area (code 2d). I originally wanted to replace it as I thought it was broken, but it ended up working. I started with a clean install of Octopi and it worked straight away (I tried to get multiple cameras to work). Make sure you don't screw up before you call it trash. I installed it on my Ender 3 Pro's X-axis motor and have no complaints about the image quality. I can easily

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!

  • Not bad, but...
