🪑 Armen Living Shelly 26-inch Counter Height Barstool in Brown Faux Leather with Walnut Wood Finish Review

We bought 3 stools and one stool is consistently shorter than the other two. The two larger ones are 25 inches instead of 26 inches, which is fine, but the third chair AND the stool they sent us were both 23-24 inches - a significant difference in height, which has to do with the legs of the stools. We're trying to get a same size chair for the third time, but that's a bit ridiculous.

Everyone in the family seems happy with these bar stools. Yes! They spin and they don't hit my meter either. An added benefit is that you don't feel like you're being "pushed" forward out of your seat. You sit comfortably. This is what my husband was really looking for as we had bar stools that felt like they were sliding forward. But not with these. Goodbye!

I love these chairs. Easy to assemble, looks so good, comfy and kid-friendly, easy to clean, and goes really well with our mid-century modern theme. Armen Living also has excellent customer service. One of the stools arrived with no hardware, I called the number on the note in the box and a real person answered straight away, got my address and shipped the hardware the next day. Got various bar stools from the same company for the basement bar, really good quality.

They have a relatively low maximum load capacity which makes them less than ideal if you expect them to be used heavily. But they look stylish, match the photo and are easy to assemble. (Less than 5 minutes) If you plan to overwhelm them, you're out of luck. I don't see any place to take the pillows off. But if faux leather suits you, you'll love these. Can't comment on the durability of the finish or hardware yet, but will make a change if I see any issues in the future.

Assembly was very easy as each stool was basically assembled except the seat was attached to the legs with 4 screws and rubber washers. We have a stool that we assembled and it had a noticeable flaw. Looking at the stool, there was a gap on the right side where the backrest attaches to the underside of the seat. Funny: We ordered a different bar stool but accidentally received this one. What a big delivery mistake! We liked this stool so much that we bought two more. The seat is 25 inches off the floor, which is optimal for our rack. The assembly consists of screwing in four screws with the supplied Allen key. It lasted a few minutes. Good news - These are actually very attractive stools. Installation is as simple as inserting four screws into the threaded holes under the seat and takes less than a minute. Each leg has a leveling foot to handle any wobble. The stools seem well made but not too heavy to move around if needed. Also, the dark brown leather of the seat and back cushions looks great, while the curved wood adds to the MCM look.
