Not working properly

Wanted to use this with my boys at the shooting range with a cheap Baofeeng UV5R and a Peltor Comtac iii headset. At first glance it seems to be well designed. When I connected my Peltors to the PTT the connection seemed tight but there is some play with the connector housing inside the PTT. There were problems connecting the PTT to the radio. When I fully insert the Kenwood 2-pin plug, my right ear headphone turns off and my left ear headphone works. I was able to transmit with PTT in this…
