💻 Atomos USB 3.0 and 2.0 Docking Station featuring a Split USB Cable Review

The speed of USB 3.0 with the higher transfer rate of Atomos recorders is a great combination. No more waiting for USB 2.0 or FireWire800 transfers. It's awesome!

It didn't work properly. Had to contact Atomos about the problem. Atomos sent me a replacement, missed the project due to poor factory quality control. Revain and Focus Camera got 5 stars because they did their job right.

Overpriced. There are similar products without the Atomos name for $10. My version came with a twisted pair cable so the drive is upside down when the USB connector is plugged in properly.

Takes up less space than a standard docking station. Since my standard Atomos case quickly fills up with cables, drives, adapters, mounts and who knows what else, space is at a premium.

I like that Atomos has kept the price of the docking station affordable. I connected it to my Mac Pro cylinder via USB3 and it works fantastic. With a SanDisk Pro 240 SSD, I get over 360MB/s actual read/write speeds using the Black Magic Design Drive Speed utility. An OWC SSD that only reported 150 writes and 205 reads using the same utility. My Atomos Ninja 2 was great, when I use it with a Canon 5D Mk III with no problems we get an epic video with this setup.
