Just get a filter

The 2005 F150 comes with a reusable rubber seal, but you never know what might happen. This gasket is made from a very thin gasket material. Buy just one filter from the same company and save a few bucks. I was able to reuse the original seal.

Pros
  • Ensures transmission durability with regular replacement
Cons
  • Hard to tell

2006 Ford F150 5.4L 2wd

Well made, looks and feels strong. The gasket that comes with it is complete nonsense. Hopefully you still have the factory reusable gasket on your truck, otherwise you'll have to buy another one. And remember, the F150 had a little yellow plunger that looked like an old spinning top that plugged the hole for the transmission oil dipstick. When you install the dipstick, this little piston is pushed into the transmission pan and sits there. So if you can't figure out where that leftover piece…

Pros
  • Exclusive gasket material swells on first heat cycle to prevent leaks for extended periods
Cons
  • Compatibility
