Thousand dollar sound for a fraction of the price.

I love this microphone. I've used the AT-2020 before and loved the way my voice sounded on it. I then used this mic to record a singer and fell in love with him, so I bought one for myself. I use it for podcasts. All AT mics are great mics for the price. You can't go wrong with this.

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • Security

Great microphone! I have AT2020+ for .

Excellent microphone! I've been using the AT2020+ for a while and it's a great upgrade! Definitely recommend if you're looking to switch from USB to XLR. BUT, I would also recommend the AT2035 because it's the best value if you don't want to shell out for the AT4040.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons

Quality vocals - this mic is as good as it gets, great price

I hooked this mic up to a Focusrite ISA One preamp. The sound is fantastic. This won't be one of those in-depth technical reviews. If you're looking for quality vocals, you can't go wrong. It competes with Neumann microphones but is cheaper. I also currently use a Shure SM7B which is great too.

Pros
  • Looking forward to it
Cons
  • Sad gear

Great microphone, best in class, perfect for home studios!

This microphone is ideal for home studios. It's flat but warm, sounds great on vocals and basically anything but drums (although I haven't tried it due to the high noise level and lack of drums). I would highly recommend this mic, more so than any other condenser mic in the $1-200 range, it really is worth every penny more, the jump over my AKG P220 was amazing.

Pros
  • Good workmanship
Cons
  • Negative present

Best mic for the price

Absolutely great mic for the price. The best $300 mic I've ever seen. Great update from at2020. Me and my engineers use this mic for vocals, instruments, sound effects and more. It does its job well and captures higher frequencies better than the at2020. We dropped it about five feet last night. I immediately panicked, but the microphone continued to work without any problems. pure sound. Crunchy highs. Great for every shot we took. Without a doubt the best microphone under 300

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers

Rich sound good for versatile use

As a voice actor I have had an AT 2035 in my home studio for about 7/8 years. I loved it and it is made well by me. During the pandemic, I'm using my home studio more than ever. I decided it was time to upgrade the mic. After a long search, I decided on the AT 4040 and am very satisfied! The difference in sound is immediately noticeable. I seem to have the best preamp but I only have a Focusrite Scarlet! It has rich bass, crisp highs and ten times the range of the 2035. I highly recommend it…

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Not as good as advertised

As a hobby, I record my solo piano arrangements and improvisations of songs from the American jazz and swing era. I'm currently recording my 15th album, this time a 2 CD set of Harry Warren songs. Previous albums have featured songs by Irving Berlin, Ellington, Burton Lane, Jimmy McHugh, James Van Heusen, Harold Arlen and so on. For years I've used a pair of Audio-Technica AT2035 cardioid condenser microphones connected to an Avid and Pro set-top box. Tool. The AT2035s were pretty good, albeit…

  • Good thing
