Sew quilts together with thread as a test. To have .

With sewing thread as a test. I had never used 50 2-ply cotton before and was curious what a difference it would make compared to my usual 50 3-ply given the increase in cost. Less dust, less bulky seams, breakage, etc. Will be updated in the future after the project is completed and used several times, washed and dried.

The best for quilting.

I have been using Aurifil quilting thread exclusively now and have for many years. There's just no reason to buy anything else when you can mount this Revain on your front door. The quality of this yarn cannot even be compared to Joann's cheaper brands. If you are making a blanket, you need this quality product. You don't want to spend all your time sewing only to have it fall apart. This light beige color is just perfect for many projects. To be honest I've always used this light shade of…

I will not buy this yarn again

I have heard so much about Aurifil yarn but am very disappointed with this purchase. Even after changing the needle on my sewing machine, checking the correct tension and making sure I have the right size needle for that 50w thread, it kept breaking. I took my 1 year old Bernina to the dealer to inspect the car for burrs or anything else in the car that caused the breakdown but all was fine. When I brought my typewriter home, I tried the Aurifil filament again and the break continued. I went…

Deeply disappointed.

In every blog I read and vlog I watch, Aurifil is considered the best yarn on the market. The line itself is good, I agree - smooth and silky with almost no lint which is the ONLY reason it got two stars - but it only got stuck on the spool 3 times the first time. a few hundred yards or so and it was wound up in a knot that would easily break my needle and possibly ruin my project if I didn't catch it. Wash. therefore it is almost pulled off the spindle and all the way to the left. This is the…

Without exception the best yarn for quilting!

How many times have you carefully measured the pieces before cutting, used the 1/4 inch presser foot on your machine and slowly sewed the pieces together into a precise block. . Then you measured the block and found it to be smaller than the instructions say? This used to be the most annoying part of quilting for me. . so much so that I have given my blocks to various troubleshooting instructors. That's when I discovered Aurifil 50 wt thread. I never realized how big a difference one thread can

Pros
  • For machine embroidery, quilting and overcasting
