No CAT5e certification

I have a 550 Mbps fiber connection to my house. From the main router in the main house, I test a full 550 up and 550 down on every laptop I connect to it. This cable is only 100 feet (33.3m) long and should have no problem maintaining that connection speed over that distance. I don't have any EM access points that would interfere with the cable, nothing. I ran a standard 110 foot home cable to test the connection and get a full 550/550, so what?!?! I don't think this cable is properly shielded…

Long, efficient, not too thick

I bought this cable when moving because I moved into an apartment where I had a spare room that I could use as an office instead of having my own Having computers in my living room where the network connection appeared. The problem was that the place it entered the apartment was in the living room, the farthest corner from the room where I set up my office. I knew this but didn't have a chance to see the apartment / never had exact measurements so I bought this cable. Turns out I overestimated…

fake cable; Copper clad aluminum is never rated as Cat5 or Cat3.

Copper plated aluminum conductors make a poor excuse for a communications cable. Aluminum is too brittle to be forged like AWG24. I couldn't find any performance ratings for aluminum under 18 AWG; it probably doesn't match the code under any circumstances. This paper-thin aluminum will break due to work hardening after minor tampering/termination. The UL listing for this cable has been faked; This is a fake from China. These copper-plated aluminum pairs didn't even come close to meeting Cat5e…
