If you need accuracy, look elsewhere. I also didn't get perfectly centered holes with racks. If you are aware of these limitations, you can easily bypass them. There are better quality dowel mounts available, but they are more expensive. The quality is about what I expected for the price.

Poor quality product. At first the 3/8 inch hole was too small for a drill. I had to drill out the metal socket with a 3/8" bit. The 5/16" sleeve is so sloppy the drill will fall everywhere. And now the worst part, the 3/8" ring had a stripped foreign screw on it. I had to find a tap with the same thread and diameter as the hole and re-cut the hole. Now a constant problem, the collars don't like being tightened on the rotating part of the drill. I do not recommend this remedy.

If you want high performance pro level, look elsewhere and open your wallet.
