Type of review

Bought as a gift for my pregnant sister and had it shipped to her address as a surprise. She did not know it was coming or who sent it. Upon opening the box she promptly began to play with the toy that was supposed to be for her unborn son. When it began to talk she got scared and threw it, which is a major plus for the purchase. Even after her attack it worked fine and she has informed me she will be playing with it more than the kid, and that might just keep it for herself. All that said, she

Pros
  • The soft, plush fabric of the Octoplush provides a comforting and cozy addition to a child's nursery or playroom
Cons
  • May not meet consumer's expectations for the price

What I liked about this product was my son loved to play with it every day and all I can see was him running through my house with the toy and a smile on his face.

Pros
  • Includes volume control
Cons
  • May not be chew-proof – can potentially be swallowed

PRICE IS CHEAPER. AND SO IS THE PRODUCT

I really loved the first one I bought in August 2018. So I thought I would buy a back up in case my baby destroys the first one. Sadly it appears that Baby Einstein is cutting corners to sell them cheaper. NOTICE THE LACK OF DETAIL ON THE FACE OF THE ONE i PURCHASED THIS MONTH. Also the Bow tie is now just a cheap ribbon instead of the nice felt. The Octopus is just a bit smaller. and the most disappointing of all is the VOLUME .or lack of. Not as loud as the the one I purchased in August…

Pros
  • Language selector switch to choose English, Spanish or French
Cons
  • May have limited appeal for boys

Music stops if you touch a color

I love the music it plays, but wish you could choose between playing music or doing the colors. My grandson was 4 months old when I purchased this, he loves the music but hits the colors with his feet and hands when he is just moving around. And if you hit a color while the music is playing the music stops!

Pros
  • Can not hear to well in the french language but great in the English.
Cons
  • May not be as environmentally friendly as other toys

This has been on my "baby wish list" for awhile now, and it made it's way into my cart the other day. It arrived yesterday afternoon, and the kids (just under 5 months) already LOVE IT! They smile at her (we call her "Olivia") and hug her to activate the sounds. It's soft and lovely and the sounds are very nice. Our colors and sounds are lined up. Some of the other reviewers mentioned that the sound that says "brown" isn't actually on the brown tentacle. This is NOT the…

Pros

Three Languages - my new review

Put in my 5-month old great grandson's Easter basket. He loved the softness and the colors. His mother speaks Spanish and loved that the colors were in three languages - English, Spanish, French. The pronunciation is very clear. Hopefully, he will learn at least the basic colors in all three languages, and it will encourage him to become multi-lingual!

Pros
  • This was mich smaller than it appeared in the pictures and video.
Cons
  • May not be suitable for kids with allergies

Cons

Educational! for my opinion

Your little one doesn't know that he or she has a mind that's made of "jello". We as parents and Grandparents should teach all aspects of learning, including music from Classic composers, diversity in language and enjoying time spent with the colors, numbers & fun, no matter how little they may be. We need to throw a lot at them while their mind is "setting" (jello) and keeping this up till probably age 4 1/2 or so. This sweet little Octopus will help you in the process.

Pros
  • It's a great gift for baby showers or newborns, as it's both useful and adorable
Cons
  • May pose distraction towards other activities

He loves it! good for me

Our grandson loves his octopus! It’s always the first thing he goes for! Not quite old enough for the colors but LOVES the music!

Pros
  • Baby can cuddle up to new colors and music
Cons
  • May only have one mode of play

My Sons favorite good for me

This plush toy is great! The music stops all meltdowns in their tracks. I know this toy will grow with him with the colors and different languages. The only thing I would change is making another option on the sound pack. My son loves the music but it’s interrupted every time a color is touched. It would be amazing if the colors could be turned off and the main head touch point can remain on.

Pros
  • Babies and toddlers can develop their hand-eye coordination and gross motor skills through interaction with the toy
Cons
  • May not be durable for rough play

Take it from a French mom: the French audio isn't bad at all!

I write this review mainly to respond to some people's concern that the French audio doesn't sound like actual French.Well, I am not sure if these reviewers are talking about the same version of the toy, but our octoplush speaks French well enough, especially for a baby. Yes, it is muffled at times, as the English and Spanish audio recordings are, because that's what they are: recordings. But that has nothing to do with the accent! I am sure that the French audio doesn't sound any worse for a…
