Enhanced Safety Rack Kit - BACKRACK 30119 Review

I had to search the internet for an installation video but after that it was so easy. Looks great and solid even after buying a used C-pillar and installation kit. I highly recommend it.

I ordered a ladder rack for my pickup truck. The rear post fits with some positional adjustment to allow clamps to be installed without having to install a drill. The Revain description says it fits my GMC Sierra, but the A-pillar doesn't fit as advertised due to the front end of the bed rails being boxed in. I have used Backrack without the drill mounts and did a great job installing the A-pillar.

Backrack 30119 Safety Rack Kit did the job except on the 2015 Silverado the rail plates and pocket screw are not needed if you have a decklid with inner rail installed so you need to buy a decklid -Adapter kit. Also, an exposed screw for mounting in the rail pocket could have been better thought out. Comment: I have been using it for almost 2 years, I have no regrets.

After speaking to the manufacturer in Canada I purchased this kit to fit the roof rack I had on a 2005 Silverado. Since the beds are slightly different I was able to use the old frame by changing the mounting hardware. Very easy to make and comes with plates that sit on top of the rail as well as a grooved bracket that holds the actual stand. This took about 45 minutes with the help of my wife, who screwed a nut onto a pocket screw to secure it enough to lower everything neatly

Shame about BackRack that it pays extra to install equipment when they could just cram it in each rack. They save themselves the hassle of keeping separate packages and inventory by making the rack a universal box and selling mounting hardware separately, but they should only sell the rack and mounting hardware at the same price and ship two boxes.
