How is anything supposed to contribute to actually harming my child?

I was hoping that this teething chain would be "the right one". A day after I put the necklace on my child, I noticed a small red spot. A few days later, the necklace appears to be irritating or scratching his skin. I'm not sure if other people experience this too, but I will be sending it back.
