Instructions state to leave at least 2 1/2 inches exposed after the catalyst. Leave as much as possible, 4 plus inches. The silencer slides down the pipe, so that's not a problem. Overall easy to install, it's 40 minutes work. Standard exhaust pipe, not too loud, just a nice rumble.

Simple, user-friendly diagram and instructions, easy installation. I had to trim my original exhaust a bit to fit but it worked great, sounds great and I can feel the difference from the old crappy stock exhaust, all the clamps it came with worked great even the clamp it comes with comes the exhaust pipe. for the unibody mount to work. Very satisfied

Quality curves. My 1997 Cherokee had a rear rubber spring, so I had to weld the spring to the back of the exhaust pipe as the clamp that came with it didn't work. My 97 is now installed with it. Runs amazing. Sounds good. The only thing that confuses me is that the muffler inlet is 2.25" instead of 2.5", but I don't disregard this as it fits in a standard jeep for those driving a stock cat. The engine breathes amazingly under load. Now there is no need to downshift; I can run from 1000 rpm.

Installed this on my 2001 XJ, was a bit nervous when I bought the full cat back system and not sure about the gaps, I have a 3.5" lift kit. This exhaust fits perfectly, after a little trimming according to the manual everything is free and there is enough space. Before that, the muffler throttle 2.25 was welded in and out. When I switched to this 2.5L cat reverse-through muffler, I was a little worried it would be louder than a choke, but it's actually pretty quiet. Maybe 10-20 dB more than…
