Doorbells are a game changer

3 months ago I rescued a dog about 1 year old. She was about 90% potty trained by her adopters with a dog door. Our home has a tall vinyl patio door and the dog door inserts are overpriced. The poor dog fell easily from accidents because we just couldn't get her outside often enough. She understood the potty command when we got her outside in time, so it was more of a training for her to get our attention. Then I saw a video of dogs being trained to ring bells. Worth a try right? Every time I…

So far, so good! about dogs

We have just adopted a new dog from our local Humane Society and although he can make pottery he started peeing on the carpets outside our door as that was how he let us know what he has to go outside, sitting on the carpet and looking towards the door. We did a little research and decided to give it a try. After some practice, she realized that she needed to communicate with us more so we knew when she needed to go out. She began associating the sound of the bell with going outside to the…

Really works! Repetition is key. Bought 1 for each door.

I bought 2 pieces (one for the front and one for the back). It seems a little pricey for what you get, but overall it's not bad for the price. I love bells! My puppy (now 5 months old) was about 3 months old when we bought him. I immediately started training him with tricky trainer treats (which are very good and I highly recommend them). I have learned that before you teach your dog that ringing means going outside, you must first teach your dog to ring the bell and how to do it. Therefore…

It worked in 6 weeks after ordering installation!

I looked at many dog doorbells and decided on this one. First we tried the ribbon of jingle bells hanging on the door and it startled our dog every time they rang. I ordered this doorbell 6 weeks ago. At first she didn't seem to notice. We hung it just above the baseboard next to the door that we always use to potty. In the beginning we got them out every 30 minutes. We put her on the bell, said "go to the potty”, rang with our paw or nose and immediately took her out into the street, onto the…
