I have a BAOFENG GT-3TP MARK III with a 7.4V 1800mAh battery, model BL-5. This battery rectifier did not turn on on my radio. Useless.

Works as described! I ordered 2 wired connections in a third car where I didn't want to invest in a fixed mobile setup with a magnetic mount with BNC adapters to quickly remove the radio (also with an APRS cable). The other is in the glove box of the main vehicle for emergencies.

finally tried it and when transmitting it picks up current interference and emits high frequency squeaks. I've tried hooking them up to several different cars, my battery generator and finally my 120v to 12v wall converter. The adapters gave the same results. Unfortunately, they are unusable for transmission.

I am giving this item 1 star not because of the seller but because of the product. I bought it to use with my Baofeng BF-F8HP and it works but only on reception. Even with low transmission power, the device gets warm and the display darkens after a while. I thought mine was defective so I got a second one with the same result. So beware, this isn't the best device you can buy unless you're planning on just using it for listening.

I have used it several times instead of regular Baofeng battery and it works great. I can send full power to the UV-5R5 with no problems and I power it with a 9A 12V open frame power supply. If I had to give a minus, I'd say that a straight cord would be better than a coiled cord, but that's more of a personal preference than a real issue. Edit: This review is kind of out of place. Although the design has no flaws, it leaves a lot to be desired. The construction of this product is not very good, it seems cheap, light and fairly easy to break. However, the cord is long enough to do what you need in the car. While I wouldn't use it outside of a car, I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone either.
