I quickly got used to the leather straps on my back. Very convenient. I'm retired and use my iPad a lot in bed - read, play games. However, I don't think this is suitable for small hands. I am a 6 foot tall male. I also use a 12.9-inch iPad Pro - the largest. If you're using a smaller iPad, a smaller hand will work just fine. The leather strap will start to stretch like all leather, I need to find a way to "tension" the leather to make it tighter.

I love this case when I take my iPad with me. It is very strong and sticks very firmly. The TPU outer shell fits snugly and firmly against the plastic shell. I am convinced that all the positive reviews here are not correct. This is pure rubbish. It doesn't open very easily to put an iPad in, and the kickstand is useless. This is a tough case. Getting the iPad in and out can be a little tricky and it certainly took me a while to get the hang of it, but once in the case it's very secure. I didn't drop it because I'm not going to drop my new $1200 iPad, but it looks like it'll take a fall very well. I also love the Apple Pencil slot.
