Very elastic!

I like this elastic cord because it is very flexible and very stretchy. However, it is very thin, so it has to be passed through the bracelet twice. I usually tie it between every other bead after missing it twice. (Learn how to do the tutorial on You Tube beadaholique). It can also break if your beads have rough edges. I like it better than the heavy monofilament line because the knots are smaller so I don't have to drill out 2 beads for the big holes to hide the knot.

Pros
  • Beading and Jewelry Making
Cons
  • Expensive

If you're using them to sell products, NOT

I NEVER leave reviews unless they are absolutely amazing or absolutely awful, in which case it's the latter. I make batches of Heishi bracelets with this and I've made a few bracelets and had a few breaks. The one in the photo was my own, which I've only worn twice. It sits in my closet and is still slowly dissolving just by sitting there! I can't afford to change these bracelets all the time, so I just ordered another one! I can't risk dissatisfied customers! 👎

Doesn't pull out of shape.

I bought this after watching some videos about making bracelets. In one they used Opelon. Although it's a bit thicker than the most elastic, I've put it through the beads twice (about 8/0) as I always make two strands for my bracelets, including Opelon, although I don't think it ever snaps or unravels will wear out. . My guess is that really coarse beads can wear down over time, but Opelon is made up of many fibers so wearing down one or more won't wear down the entire strand. I will only use…

  • Cord and thread for beadwork
