Several people recommended this hair straightener to me so I gave it a try. My beard is about 2 inches long and a medium-density red. The sides of my beard can look a bit wild at times, so I thought this would be a good idea. He just did the beard but I can't say I liked the look at all. For me, the beard has to be damp and the temperature at its maximum for the hair to straighten. It also took a lot of time to smooth it out. So it technically works, but it looks a little weird IMHO.

Product works well and is good value. He's pretty small. My only real complaint is that it's very easy to press the button that controls the heat. You basically have to keep your finger on the button while using it. I probably hit the temperature button at least 10 times every time I use it. It still works well but would be much better with a blocking selector switch. It's also a bit annoying that you have to select a temperature after plugging it in before it turns on.
