Works great for engine cooling and air conditioning

I can't remember what code my car gave but basically the engine wasn't warming up fast enough. I replaced it on my 2003 VW GTI 1.8T and with some DIY tools it worked great. He cleared the code and hasn't had any issues with him since. Beck Arnley worked for me with no problems.

Pros
  • Made from high quality materials for durability
Cons
  • No

Wrong temperature for engine cooling and air conditioning

I bought two of these "143 degree thermostats" for my two engine boat. The only problem is they won't open until it's much, much hotter. I tested them in a pot of hot water after my engines turned red on the temp gauges. The thermometer I used for testing showed a maximum temperature of 190 degrees and the thermostat only opened after that. I don't know the exact temperature but it must have been over 200 degrees because the thermostats had gas bubbles in the water before they opened.

Pros
  • Special application for this car
Cons
  • Annoys
