The bungee cord that attaches to it is really great and very durable. The clips are strong metal, like "alligator clips" if anyone knows what that is. They open and then you can pinch them to prevent them from opening and releasing the leaf. With the black plastic part in the middle, you can tighten or loosen the cord and make it tighter or looser.
