This is a clearly marked 2 foot cord so it's suitable for rooms where you don't need a long distance from the power strip to the outlet . The only downside I see with this strip is the lack of a power indicator. Solid Orange/Red Switch - Outlet is "on" when the switch is depressed from the side with the bar raised (universal "on" sign).

I bought these 2 packs a few years ago and threw away one a long time ago because it almost caught fire. Yesterday lightning struck near my house and several switches in my house were tripped. Most items in my house were recoverable (even the ones that DID NOT have surge protectors). I wouldn't recommend this --- it's cheap and looks cheap. There are no indicator lights at all - not even on and off - although the photos in the display make it look like it should light up, so I don't even know if it's working properly - you really have no idea if you're protected or not. no I've used it with some very light items.
