It works and I have no complaints about the actual step count. Here's my problem: It has two sets of batteries, one for the light (i.e. for the screen backlight and a small keychain-sized flashlight) and the second for the step counting function. Even though flashlight batteries run out quickly and the pedometer lasts a lifetime, they only offer a replaceable battery for the pedometer.
