Comes with a remote control which I found useful although not required. Turns out you need a remote control to change the settings on the scale. It defaults to kg every time you turn it on and can only be changed to pounds using the remote control. Yes, and the remote control turns off the scale, but does not turn it on. I don't like using the remote to change the unit every time I want to use the scale. Will return.

This scale is sold under several brand names. They all seem to be basically the same BUT the remotes are different. A remote control is required for setup and while it more or less matches the remote shown in the picture, it does NOT match the remote listed in the manual.
