Great for my large evaporative cooler. I used the BestAir material in a green bottle...was glad it was also antibacterial but was designed to prevent damage to the filter from hard water build up.

You have just purchased this product but have done so in the past and it will help your water prevent limescale and odors in your humidifier. Works well with a bacteriostatic solution to keep your humidifier running to improve humidity in your room and keep the filter fully functional.

Can't tell if this product actually works or makes things worse. It should prevent scale/mineral buildup, but there is still white powdery buildup on the humidifier filter. Easy to wash, maybe that's the difference? Does this soften the white mineral? Not sure. The water in Arizona is very hard; Mineral enrichment is guaranteed. This product works well and extends the life of the wicks, but the pink color causes problems. I have problems with "pink mold" (which is actually a staph bacterium that can cause respiratory infections). I add a treatment to prevent pink mold but with pink stains on the wicks it looks a lot like pink mold that would be growing without the treatment. !
