I bought them for a boy scout camp. With record rainfall, I needed something that could protect my child's feet from wet trails, standing water, and heavy rain. He could keep up with hikes, jump in puddles, and generally be a sloppy kid while mostly keeping his feet dry. His athletic shoes soaked his feet in minutes, enough to last most of the day. Great shoes! We bought these for our 7 year old to use as walking shoes. She hated hiking because her legs always hurt afterwards. She has hardly worn anything since receiving them. They're comfortable enough to be worn as casual shoes, and the water resistance is an added bonus. Every night she would complain about how much her feet hurt and we would often soak or massage them for hours before she could sleep. She still has these problems when wearing other shoes but not when wearing this one.
