Many complain that the coffee tastes bitter when using this device. The secret is to pour already boiling water into the base, not cold. This prevents coffee from being prepared while waiting for the pressure to build up. It's an extra step, but worth it.

This is not a blender so it received 1 star for blending performance. I couldn't give it 0 stars for its blending power. It makes great coffee/espresso for 1 person. It makes about 4 ounces of strong/thick coffee. I would recommend it to anyone who drinks 1 cup of coffee/espresso a day and doesn't want to mess with a big shot machine.

Makes strong coffee every day. I've seen people complain about it being rusty but it's important NOT to put it in an automatic dishwasher as automatic dishwasher dish soap is much more alkaline than say Ivory or Dawn dish soap and will corrode aluminum. Treat it with care and it will perform exactly as advertised.

It is very cute but very inconvenient to use. I follow all the instructions, boil water, put it in the pot, make sure the flame doesn't go above the bottom, wait for it to boil, then it doesn't seem to matter how hard I blow; flows when I pour it into a cup. Then I have to clean up this mess + I lose some of the coffee. Still don't understand why you shouldn't wash with soap. I still deal with it, but I wouldn't buy it if I knew trouble.

Bought a 4 cup Bialetti. The espresso is as good as a coffee shop and I don't have to splurge on a fancy, expensive machine. And since it doesn't require electricity, I can take it with me when I go camping. I don't have a steamer, so I heat the milk in an old Smuckers peanut butter jar for about a minute and a half. When I'm done heating, I pour some espresso into the glass, screw on the lid, shake well, and then pour the milk into the espresso. Viola! Great espresso drink.
