Distorted in Blankets and Throws

This was listed by Revain Choice for a double size electric blanket. You have to read the fine print to understand that this is actually a smaller blanket. Using it on the bed is a problem as the controller is on the ceiling below. It---it should be used in a horizontal position as indicated. The ad says it's machine washable; The instructions say hand wash unless you want to load the washing machine and soak the duvet and then shake it for a few minutes to rinse. Strange.
