They are big enough to block the sun without laying on your cheeks, but the reading part is too small and is close to the bottom of the glass to to make reading easier. You have to tilt your head back or raise your glasses to read. I was going to use them on the beach but ended up putting some regular readers underneath.

I don't normally like these types of sunglasses but they do the job. My near vision was gone so I started using it to drive to see my phone better. If you're only around 5-8 years old and your head isn't touching the ceiling, you probably still have to tilt your head to see your tools or phone. Not the ideal ride form because they don't coil up but at this price getting 4 is a great deal and they came with nice fabric zips.

The bifocal part is a small piece of plastic located on the inner, lower part of the frame. The bifocals are quite thick, the lines around the plastic are visible, you can't read or do anything up close. The ones I received are my number as my doctor measured me before I ordered them. They are almost useless for anything at close range and very annoying. Inexpensive plastic frames and lenses. They're only good for seeing far, as they certainly don't have a prescription for long-distance vision.
