This iron appeared to be a good basic iron and only spattered occasionally. The total weight was not great, but sufficient. Then, without warning, it just stopped working. We have never dropped this iron and unplugged it after each use. I would say that we iron lightly - we iron maybe 4-5 things a week. I think even a cheap iron should last longer than this short time. I rate this item 3.5 stars. It has most of the features he has listed but as a seamstress/master craftsman I find it a problem that I have to constantly stop what I am doing to move the iron so it doesn't shut off. Heel will not heat up/turn on for 8 minutes. It's more like 2-3 minutes. And when restarting I have to unplug it, wait at least 2 seconds and plug it back in. Nice looks, great features, stainless steel base, auto shut off. great stuff but it doesn't drip. Add water, turn on, heat and press the steam button. You get a large drop of water inside the body for each burst of steam from the iron when you press the steam button. (although the steam from the iron is excellent).
