This bag is BIG! It is great for camping and can be used on the plane. It's not waterproof or water-resistant, but thanks to the size of the bag and pockets, an umbrella can easily fit inside.

At first I liked it. A few minutes later, the metal holding the bag's straps came loose. The cord also snapped after I loaded it with heavy college books. I've tried reconfiguring it and getting it to work, but it didn't work. I recommend buying another bag. Try Burton for backpacks. Lifetime guarantee and in my experience they hold up very well.

Overall the bag is pretty good. It's very roomy and appears to be durable. However, there are several disadvantages. It doesn't hold its shape at all, the straps to close the top are a bit awkward and it would be nice to have a divider in the main compartment. But then it's very cheap, so it doesn't really matter much. It serves its purpose.

I just want to say that this is a great product. I bought it to use as hand luggage on our recent trip to Europe. The quality and design are exceptional. It works great for every imaginable need you have. I'm sure it will be a great backpack for school. The compartments are very spacious, the clasps are strong, the canvas is very durable. The top compartment is perfect for laptops, tablets, books and everything you need.

Excellent bag to carry many things. Before buying this bag I was usually tired of carrying book bags on crowded public transport because you are an easy target for pickpockets or items can fall/lost into the bag if the zippers or straps are unreliable. What I love about this bag is that it has real straps, unlike many newer bags that use "fake straps" so items are always securely fastened and not easily accessible. The material is strong and durable, and the top compartment is great for packing

To make this backpack waterproof you just have to wax it, I've treated mine with linseed oil and wax, it's tough as a nail and will last a very long time. These simple modifications brought this pack into line with packs that cost hundreds of dollars more - I know this for a fact, I have several of these.
