Dull and Rusty After One Use

Unbelievably terrible. I opened it and used it right away to see how sharp it was. it was almost uselessly dull. I then hand washed it in very hot water, rinsed it in even hotter water and let it air dry in a drying rack over night. The next morning, I woke up to see it rusted terribly. It rusted in the joints where the metal meets the cheap plastic handle and all along the edges of the blades. I’m shocked at how truly terrible this product is. BUYER BEWARE, LOOK ELSEWHERE!

Pros
  • A sleek and stylish design that will complement any kitchen
Cons
  • The blade does not stay sharp for very long

Broke on first use!

Would give zero stars if I could. Purchased these for a bar and they broke on the first night of use. Save your money and buy the Kuhn Ricon one.

Pros
  • Works great
Cons
  • It rusted after 2 uses. Had to throw away

Had to throw away after one use

Initially, it was fine. The peeler feels like it is made from cheap materials, but it's what I expected for the price. I ended up throwing it away after using it once because the black coating on the metal started coming off. I would recommend spending a few more bucks and getting one that is better quality

Pros
  • Sharp
Cons
  • As many others have said, rusts easily. Save your money.

These stay sharp and are cute.

So as an old lady I've owned a lot of peelers. Fancy schmancy ones, cheap ones, etc. and these are by far the bet ones I have ever tried. They are a perfect size and don't slip in my hand, peel like a dream no matter what I peel, peel any kind of veggie or fruit and are easy to wash. I'm not sure what more you could want from a peeler.

Pros
  • Mercer Culinary
Cons
  • The packaging is difficult to open

Thin plastic, cheap construction

Very thin, cheap plastic. Not sharp enough to get a decent slice, but if I press any harder, the plastic bends and loses contact with the fruit.

Pros
  • Graters, Peelers & Slicers
Cons
  • The handle is too small for those with larger hands

Rusted After ONE Use

I domt know what the point of the carbon coating on it is (or is the blade just covered in paint?). The damn thing got spots of RUST on the blade after being run in the dishwasher *ONCE* and I couldn't feel more ripped off. It was nice when I used it the first time, but I'm wary about using it a second - I don't want rust in my food. It's garbage and you should try to buy something else thats higher quality. I regret this purchase.

Pros
  • Simple setup
Cons
  • The blade dulls quickly with frequent use

Orange you glad you found this? You will be!

I don’t know how it works but it really does only take off the outer part of the fruit. It’s amazing! I was really disappointed when I got it and felt it in my hand because it’s plastic and light, it feels cheap. It’s not. It’s silly how great it works. I’d buy this every time and not regret it.

Pros
  • Comes with a lifetime warranty, providing peace of mind and long-lasting use
Cons
  • The blade is not wide enough for peeling large sections

Perfectly thin peels but very dull and cheap

I bought this because my traditional peeler was getting too much of the pith. However this one requires so much force that I always push right through and cut my hand holding the fruit. Its like how cutting with a dull knife is less safe than a sharp knife.Gets two stars because it does work as a cocktail peeler and gets only the peel of citrus. I still end up using my traditional peeler still and dealing with the extra pith. I'll be looking for a new cocktail peeler.

Pros
  • Lightweight and easy to handle, even for those with arthritis or other hand conditions
Cons
  • The handle is not durable enough to withstand frequent use

Not so good on my review.

After a few months of light use, a bag of carrots every two weeks, maybe 10 potatoes and the thing broke. Before it broke it was just so so. Pretty comfortable to handle but didn’t always peel things easily.

Pros
  • 4.4 x 2.9 x 0.4 inches
Cons
  • The blade is not angled correctly for optimal peeling

Appealing!: my feedback

I always seemed to be hunting for a vegetable peeler prior to getting this set and now I am always able to find one when needed. These are quite short handled (a couple of inches at most) which is the only drawback with these. The blades are sharp and work great for peeling any vegetable or for citrus peel for recipes. They work fast and cleanly. I've always just put them in the dishwasher for clean up and they have held up well over many, many uses.

Pros
  • Easy to clean and maintain, making kitchen cleanup a breeze
Cons
  • The blade is not flexible enough to adjust to contours

Not worth the buy good for me

Very cheaply made and the blade seems like it is coated in black paint which chips off as soon as you use it. Not even worth the $3.

Pros
  • Works well
Cons
  • Mine rusted after one or two uses, even before I put it in the dishwasher.

Rust after first wash

These corroded like crazy after only the first wash. However, they did not include any special washing instructions in the package.

Pros
  • Makes a great gift for friends and family members who enjoy spending time in the kitchen
Cons
  • The peeler is not suitable for peeling frozen or rock hard items
