One of my grow lights died due to a faulty switch. So I needed a new device. Not wanting to spend $80 on another lamp, I looked around and found this one. It mounts conveniently on a shelf (which is great because I couldn't afford to give up shelf space for another 10" socket). The neck of the lamp is flexible so it can be positioned anywhere I want. And yet it's strong enough to hold a 23W LED light bulb (if anyone has held one of these bulbs you'll know they're heavy) in a horizontal position

My bulb weighs 10.4 ounces and the seller claims it can lift a maximum of 12 ounces, my 10 ounce bulb looks like I'm putting 12 pounds on the end of this thing, and it falls faster than the free fall of stones on a summer's day. The clamp feels strong but its grip is worse than what you could do with a paper clip, not seriously if you pinch it with your hands to open it feels strong and solid but once it does is actually pressed against something, then it has no clutch.
