Just say no to vertical video

As a standalone smartphone mount, the Bowfinger doesn't work for one reason: it's designed to hold your phone vertically. The build quality is phenomenal. If you can handle the added weight and significant overall cost, simply buy the Bowfinger 2.0 and 3.0 and you'll have a premium mount. I think they could modify 3.0 to better accommodate horizontal axis shooting and get a five star product.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons

Great affordable realistic for Joe Hunter

First of all I am a very passionate hunter who takes this major sport/hobby/leisure very seriously. I'm also realistic enough to know that I don't get paid to hunt (at least when I'm awake). If you need something that works and captures your hunt as well as your phone, then this is it. If you need staging, hire a cameraman! I would highly recommend to all bow hunters looking to show their hunt to family/friends. Very light, durable and unobtrusive. For the price unbeatable. He does what he…

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Missing fasteners in the order.

Terrible experience. I ordered a mount. The part that holds the phone fits. But the part that attaches the phone holder to the bracket didn't fit. Very disappointed. Thank goodness I opened the package and didn't wait to give it away for Christmas.

Pros
  • Completely rigid metal construction
Cons
  • I will be silent

Great product, very little vibration in the video.

This version was sold to me because of the all-metal design. I took a few videos of the Galaxy S3 with the Otterbox Defender protective case and it still fits, although it might be close to the largest possible phone on this mount. When shooting backwards, I was able to get fairly sharp video with a lot less vibration in the frame than I expected. I couldn't see my arrows clearly so I'll add some highlighted bars and film a new video. All in all this is a great product. I've added a video of my

Well designed smartphone holder

The Bowfinger 3.0 phone holder had enough space for my iPhone 6 with LifeProof Fre case. It's definitely a solid aluminum smartphone mount that doesn't increase or amplify arc vibration. I think the short mounting bracket that comes with the kit is one of the reasons it doesn't add vibration when fired. The short cradle keeps the phone close to the centerline of the bow, but depending on how it's mounted it can end up squashing it close to the grip, making it a bit difficult for shooters to…

Pros
  • Cushion foam protects the phone
