This little red star comes with lights already inside so all you have to do is place it on your tree! My tree is only 3 ft tall. So it goes well on a smaller tree. However, it did not come with any instructions on how to work the timer. It has an on/off switch but we don’t know how to work the timer. The first night, it shut off after about 6 hours.
