Works great BUT FAN NOISE is bad

Works great BUT FAN NOISE is bad. It has a single fan air intake and expels heat through the key areas. It really needs a fan redesign. It can be opened from all sides from below as no closed housing is required, which makes for much more efficient cooling. I wanted to use it on a small insert stage next to the camera, but I had to bring it into the editing room and it's too loud for that room. So we only switch it on when needed and then quickly switch the small noise source off again.

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • Frequency

Amazing flexibility and versatility

At the time of writing, this new switcher from Roland was introduced to the world last month (October 2016) with little fanfare or publicity. I came across this here at Revain while looking for a cheap camera switch. The switch's big brother, the Roland V-1HD, has been around for a while and costs about $500 less (again, at the time of this writing). However, there are many good reasons why this new Roland V-1SDI switch costs a little more, and most of them focus on what I call user versatility

Pros
  • Accessories and consumables
Cons
  • Hard to say
