These are great sandals that have stood up to my son's active lifestyle. Unfortunately, shortly after the purchase, the elastic cord fell out of the clasp, so that an adjustment was not possible. The cord part is more decorative than functional. The Velcro fastener keeps the shoes securely on the foot. It's just annoying when there's a small cable flapping around.

I bought these for my 6 year old grandson. They have a boat and he carries them on the river. The sole is thick and durable, it can be worn in the water and on the shore.

These sandals are exactly as pictured and fit perfectly. My 8 year old grandson immediately put them on, ran and loved them. You have multiple options to customize the fit on the leg, back, straps on top, and elastic laces. Love the fact that the front is firm over the toes for protection but has lots of cut outs for coolness. I can't say anything about the durability at the moment, but they make a very good and stable impression. We are very happy with this purchase so far.

Update: Downgraded from 5 stars to 2 stars, first the plastic piece holding the cord broke off and now the strap has snapped. They don't last long! First review: I bought these for my 4 year old son who has very tall feet. You can't squeeze his foot in normal shoes/sandals. Love these shoes! They are very cute and durable! Sizing was an issue when purchasing - I followed the size chart and it was correct! I guess the problem was more on my side - I couldn't believe my son had grown 1.5 sizes since winter and was still wearing his late winter shoes with no complaints! The shoes get 4/5 stars from me. They would have gotten all 5 if the edges hadn't lost thread (very slightly as seen in the photos). Don't get me wrong these shoes are awesome but after a long weekend
