So close to what I used to be like 50 years ago.

Very similar to what I used 50 years ago. Over the years we have purchased 6 other brand irons and all have leaked water and been unacceptable. It's not a splatter, but I can live without it.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Appearances are deceptive.

Looks like old strong electric irons doesn't it? You won't believe! Even after following all the preliminary instructions for cleaning the plate, etc., this iron does not slide smoothly. And the instructions for pouring water for steam were followed verbatim, the iron was properly heated, water still flowed from the bottom of the tank. DO NOT buy this product unless you need another reason why you don't need to iron your clothes.

The outlet ring of the steam tank fell off 2 days ago, the steam has not been used yet, but is ok. Black & Decker has an almost identical F67E model. Brentwood is probably a Black & Decker product under a different name. There have been problems with the iron for the last few months, this is the third iron I have bought since early May. Bought a Black & Decker at Walmart, stopped working the…

NO AUTO SHUT-OFF FUNCTION, THANK GOD!

After a long search (and I'm still searching) this is the ONLY iron I can find WITHOUT the horrible auto shut off feature found on all other irons. The auto shut off works by itself, never works to the iron manufacturer's specifications, shuts off while the iron is moving, shuts off after a few seconds, etc. If you need to sew or iron for a long time, you know how frustrating the auto shut off can be . Unlike people who gave this iron bad reviews, I don't see any issues with the smooth ironing;

  • Nice
Cons
  • Good but not great
