Lamps made of durable plastic. Very nice flicker function. I set it to turn on automatically from dusk to dawn. They are light yellow and not very bright, which suits me. They are powered by solar energy. The area I live in doesn't get much sunlight so I'm not sure if that's one of the reasons they're so dark. I wanted the atmosphere to be only on my deck so they work well.

I haven't used a remote or timer but I'm sure they work great based on testing during my initial setup. The lights stay on all night, which makes me smile when I get up before sunrise or have a glass of water or Sprite in the early hours. This means that the capacity of the solar cell is excellent. They hang from the railing of our second floor balcony and are great for evening walks in the fresh air. Very happy with this purchase.

As others have said if the light works it is very nice. However, after only a few days the light turns on and only stays on when the solar panel is facing down / pressure is applied to it. When the panels are facing up, the light flashes for a moment, but then turns off. I live in Wisconsin and unfortunately I can't get into the habit of rotating the panel twice a day to get the light working properly. I ordered a new set and the same thing happened.

They are very nice when they work. I had to turn them on and switch different modes every time to get normal constant lighting. (Actually, does anyone use the other modes when they're flashing on and off? Ugh.) A lot of times I just skipped it because it wasn't worth all the trouble. I tied some party balloons to it and when I ripped off the tape holding the balloon to the light the wire broke so now only 1/4 of the light works. waste of money for me.

These lanterns look very cute during the day and glow beautifully at night. when they work. I have two strands on my balcony and they are very incompatible. I have them on a hard setting and when they turn on it's like a flash for the first minute, then as the evening progresses they randomly turn off (one strand then the other), start blinking or go very dark. I have solar panels/light sensors side by side, but the two filaments behave completely differently. Not sure if I have the wrong pair?
