BrightWater Bio BC Series 500G Review

This media looks like good material. I haven't kept it in the filter long enough to say it's the best I've tried, but I hope it works as it should.

I threw a handful of this stuff in my old box filter. Seems to work great - I've used BrightWater products in my large canister filters before and found them to be significantly better than regular MarineLand ceramic noodles etc.

You can see how tiny they are in my photo. The Brightwater Q-Series on the left is the size of a typical ceramic ring, while the pill-like thing is actually the BC-Series. I've always grumbled about how little options there are for my nano aquariums, but now my grumbling has stopped. 5 Stars. As a bonus, Brightwater is actually near me (WA) and I have all of their filter media. Look at her!

I saw this device at a lower price compared to the S series and thought it would be similar. I was a bit disappointed with this medium as it claimed to be 99% dust free and very porous. There was definitely a decent amount of dust in the container it was in. When I took the piece out and dunked a small portion of it in the water to see how it absorbed water, it didn't even go up the full length of the strap.
