Review on BrightWater Bio BC Series 500G by Nataly Collins

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Average at best. Not impressed

I saw this device at a lower price compared to the S series and thought it would be similar. I was a bit disappointed with this medium as it claimed to be 99% dust free and very porous. There was definitely a decent amount of dust in the container it was in. When I took the piece out and dunked a small portion of it in the water to see how it absorbed water, it didn't even go up the full length of the strap. I tried. I might try a deep sand pad. For a cooktop or internal filter, this will easily handle the aerobic part, but sponges will handle it too. In terms of strength, it seems quite dense. I'm still curious about their 'i' series which claims the ions help but doesn't say anything about how long it takes the medium to do that or how long it takes to chemically deplete and become just a biological medium it's been sold out for a long time. I might try that as an experiment in the future. I will definitely post a long term review on this medium if it's ever available for purchase and at a decent price.

Cons
