not quite tri-band

Found the antenna to be resonant at 400 with SWR 1.1. At 2M and 1.25M the SWR was 3 SWR. The antenna didn't work. But instead of him Nogay TB-320A.

Pros
  • handy thing

Great antenna in CB and talkback radios

Great antenna to use as a replacement for the scanner antenna and add 10 miles to the 700/800MHz P25 range, it's ugly but works.

Pros
  • Hands free
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Base is TOO thick for accessories

WOW! If you don't mind the 2 inch diameter sticking out of your car, then you might like it. I only used it as a receiving antenna. Didn't work very well on a P25 700MHz system. 150MHz and 450 seemed acceptable. very rigid and therefore puts a lot of strain on my car roof and antenna when parking in the garage. I've removed it. Really ugly unless you drive a very big car, Hummer etc.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • So so

Really tri band. Best accessory

I didn't believe in the whole tri band thing when I first bought it. I was skeptical but wanted to try anyway. When I received it I was pleasantly surprised. The SWRs look good for the ones I've been able to test. On VHF, performance is comparable to my broadband 5ft broadband VHF on both the amateur and government bands. It's even better on UHF, at least in the amateur field. There is no license to transmit on 7/800, but reception works quite well there. The base is rather "fat" compared to…

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • boring packaging

Quality workmanship, fast reliable delivery

I have now bought 2 of these antennas, both with a slight bend where the straight part of the antenna meets the top of the coil. Both fold back, which is just a bit annoying for the price I paid. That aside, these are excellent, high quality antennas and I will most likely buy them again in the future. (I'm a bit of a radio geek so every truck I own has one of these antennas). Good deal for the price just wish they were curved.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Modern
