Brunton Tag Along Watch Compass Review

I clipped this to my backpack just in front of my left shoulder. It stayed there through multiple baggage systems at the airport and throughout my trip. Super easy to read header at a glance. Not for accurate course planning, but for a great course without dropping milestones or dragging the map and compass. (or GPS) kept me on course and out of trouble. As a geologist I only buy Bruntons and this one served its purpose perfectly on those overcast days when the sun doesn't help.

The compass I received is not exactly as shown. Brunton seems to have changed the colors a bit. The blue labels in the product photo are yellow. Difficult or impossible to see in low light. Other black markings (including the all-important "N" and pointer) are easy to spot. The bottom half of the inner sphere is black. The inner ball often gets stuck for a short time. Ok I've actually tried this little compass in 24 hour use for the last 3 months. Believe it or not, it wasn't until it was physically in my hand that I finally figured out how to attach it to my bracelet, but it's been with me ever since — the ride that killed Pulsars and Rolex. .The best part is, it seemed like this little compass was still too bulky, but it wasn't.
