Valuation Pro is a free online business valuation software that allows you to quickly and easily create a professional business valuation report.

It has been developed to be simple to use, with many tools to make the process easy for anyone who wants to find out the value of a business proposition. I like how the templates are designed to be flexible, so any change can be made without breaking the layout of the document. The overall functionality of the software is great. This tool allows you to input data and generate an accurate valuation report. There is even a section to help explain the valuation in layman terms. Overall, I found

Pros
  • It is very straight forward to understand, and easy to navigate around
  • Has lots of features for modelling
  • Has an intuitive interface
Cons
  • Has no feature to show cost analysis of a project or deal.
  • Could do with more explanations of the basics (to help people understand)
  • There is no option to print the reports, only save them.

Very good job, but needs a bit of TLC to bring it up to date! This was a great starting point for me as it helped to see if there was any value in my ideas.

However, some sections needed updating (e.g. the 'Assumptions' section) and some sections didn't have enough information to allow valuation.   • This may cause some confusion or lead to extra work due to the lack of detail in the steps
  • Without these, it's difficult to judge whether your idea is feasible.

This is a great starting point for any business looking to create their own valuation model.

It provides a great starting point and will enable your proposal to stand out in the crowd. For small businesses (i.e. less than £1m turnover) you may want to consider having your own tailored version to help ensure your proposal stands out from the rest. There are over 100 examples included in the package so you should find it helpful if you are trying to demonstrate value for money. A little pricey for a template though! Very useful for learning and preparing yourself with valuable info

I like that it allows you to create your own templates, so if there's something specific about valuation of certain businesses or industries then this tool can help give those insights! It would be really helpful though in having more detailed information regarding each section (ease-of use). The interface could also do better at allowing users without much experience using spreadsheets/Excel programs navigate through sections quickly as well - not sure how they're able solve these issues but…
