Description of 🦋 Mechanical Self-Assembling Miniature Brainteaser: Butterfly Edition

MATERIAL: Like other UGears 3D puzzle sets, this set is made from high-grade 100%-natural plywood, doesn’t require the use of any extra tools or materials, such as glue, at any stage of its assembly, and fills the room with an unmatched wooden aroma the second the box has been opened. WINGS SETS: The wings of the Butterfly are made from craft paper and come in two sets; the plain ones that you can color yourself and the pre-painted ones. HOW IT WORKS: This stunning creature does move, but not like something you just had a blast assembling from pre-cut all-natural wood parts for a few hours, would move. Brought to life by a self-propelled rubber-band motor, this model moves to imitate the flutter and the flapping of wings of a real butterfly and doesn’t need any external power source. MORE ABOUT THE MINIATURE MODEL: The Butterfly is sitting on an elegant platform that also features the second character of our story, the flower, of course. The elastic support band slightly bounces the Butterfly which creates the ultra-realistic movements of this stunning model. While the two front pairs move together with the fluttering wings, the back ones are the launch/stop levers of the rubber-band motor that sets the Butterfly in flight. INTRICATE MECHANICS: The body of the butterfly has an open design like many other mechanical UGears sets, as it allows the viewers to watch the work of intricate and smart mechanisms in motion, as well as makes each model lighter.

Very difficult to assemble

My model was difficult to assemble because 1) the parts were too tight, 2) the instructions were unclear. A few words would be nice. I love the look of the kit and the colorful wings; Everything was cleanly cut and a lot of unnecessary details. But I did not enjoy assembling the model and gave up when it was about 75% complete.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Some issues

Another great product from Ugears

This is a very nice model! It comes with two sets of wings, one is color printed and the other set is for you to color it as you like. Be careful with the parts as this model has some parts that break easily, although they can be glued back on. Everything is included to create these sets that I love. I gave mine, I was very happy

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • A few little things

REALLY DIFFICULT Best in Puzzles

I've made over a dozen wooden puzzles - the rubber band mechanism in the center of this assembly is almost impossible to insert (FOUR bands in a tiny hole) and while I was finishing the project it was working poorly - what something wrong - not entirely sure and too difficult to undo and redo. It's nice but definitely NOT for beginners and not suitable for a gift unless you know the person is up to the task.

Pros
  • Very Good Price

Some parts cannot be assembled without wax and sanding.

. The assembly process wasn't too difficult at first, but when you had to insert the rubber band, the tiny strip they give you in the wood isn't big enough to attach the rubber bands. In the end it's aesthetically pleasing to look at and the mechanics are really interesting, but I won't be buying any more wooden puzzles from this company.

Pros
  • . Pleasant to use.
Cons
  • . Good, but not great.

Exciting and relaxing

Very cool project. The wood was of good quality and thickness, and the instructions were fairly straightforward. Be sure to pay attention to the details! If you just want to mindlessly put something together, this isn't the case. But if you want to take your time and create something pretty nice, this is a good place to start. I've since built a rubber band gun and am now working on a mechanoid horse. The quality of the woodwork and the design are convincing throughout. I haven't tried any…

Pros
  • Everything great!
Cons
  • Expensive

very good demo

I like doing this most of the time, the harder the better. This one wasn't the most difficult, it just felt like they could use better wood materials. other manufacturers tend to have higher-quality blades. Keep glue handy. On the downside, spare parts are plentiful, as if waiting for you to break something along the way. This is not a beginner, it takes some skill to put this together as the instructions aren't that extensive as most of these kits only have a few pictures and although they are

Pros
  • easy to use
Cons
  • quick start guide
