They are non-refundable and I received one that is now less than the 24 months I paid for. These are old stocks, be careful. The refineries I visit now require an H2S detector. My company has them, but it's easy to walk out the door and forget to pick one up, so they're all with other people. For the price, it was worth just buying one for me. Activation is very simple, the remaining time is displayed and the closer the expiry date gets, the more detailed the time information becomes.

Unfortunately the number on the front of the unit was unclear as it does not show the exact PPM readings for H2S. It shows OSHA levels of 10ppm and so on. Some kind of alarm clock. We are trying to measure the release of H2S from alluvial algae that are parasitic in the tropics. So at least 10 ppm tells us if it's dangerous.
